1. Who you are dealing with

Andy Plumbers Construction and Maintenance (Pty) Ltd, trading as Andy Plumbers, a maintenance plumbing company registered in South Africa.

Andy Plumbers is a service area business. Our plumbers come to you. We do not run a walk-in counter, and goods bought from the online shop are delivered by courier rather than collected.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to two things:

By placing an order, accepting a quotation or using this website you agree to these terms and to the policies linked above. If you do not agree, please do not order or book.

3. Prices and payment

4. Online shop orders

An order placed on the online shop is an offer to buy. It becomes a sale when payment is confirmed and we email you an order confirmation. If something cannot be supplied, because a stock count was wrong or a price was loaded in error, we tell you and refund what you paid in full. We would rather lose the sale than send you something different from what you ordered.

A paid order goes straight to packing, so it cannot be changed once payment has gone through. If it turns out to be the wrong thing, it comes back under the Refunds and Returns Policy, and your right to cancel an online purchase within 7 days of delivery under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act is not affected.

Please check your delivery address before you pay. We dispatch to the address you give us, and a parcel sent to a wrong address you supplied may carry a redelivery charge.

5. Delivery

Shop orders are delivered by courier to a street address in South Africa. Dispatch times, delivery times, courier costs and the addresses that carry a surcharge are set out in the Delivery Policy. In short: a paid order leaves the next business day, Johannesburg addresses usually receive it the business day after that, and economy courier is free on orders of R1,500 or more to a standard street address.

The goods are yours, and at your risk, from the moment the courier hands them over. Check the parcel when it arrives. If anything is damaged, missing or not what you ordered, email photographs within 48 hours of receiving it so that we can put it right.

6. Returns, refunds and warranty

You can send a shop purchase back within 14 calendar days of delivery for a refund if it is unused, unopened and in its original packaging, or up to 30 days from purchase with a 10% restocking fee. Products carry a 12 month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery in which a defective product is repaired, replaced or refunded. The full conditions, including what cannot come back once opened, are in the Refunds and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Plumbing services

8. Fitting products bought from the shop

Most of what the shop sells can be fitted by a competent person following the instructions in the box. If you fit it yourself, the fitting is yours: we cannot answer for a leak caused by a joint we did not make. Work on the main water supply to a property should be done by a qualified plumber. Where Andy Plumbers fits what you bought, that work is a separate service, quoted and invoiced on its own.

9. What a water filter is, and is not

Product pages say what each product is designed to reduce. How well any filter performs depends on the water going into it, the water pressure, and whether the cartridges are changed on time. Borehole, tank and river water should be tested by a laboratory before equipment is chosen. Nothing in the shop is a medical device, and nothing on this website is medical advice.

10. Website content

The information on this website is given in good faith as general guidance about plumbing and water treatment. It is not a substitute for an inspection of your property. We may correct errors in prices, descriptions or availability and update the website at any time. The text, photographs and design of this website belong to Andy Plumbers and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002. Beyond those rights, and as far as the law allows, our liability for any order or job is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

12. Your personal information

We use your details to quote, to fill and deliver your order, and to answer you. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and how we protect it under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We never see or store your card details: PayFast processes the payment and tells us only whether it succeeded.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so that we can resolve it. A complaint we cannot settle between us may be taken to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the day you order or accept a quotation is the one that applies to that order or job.
