AquaShield reduces common dissolved solids, chlorine taste and odour, and micro-particles from your water. The final stage then remineralises the water to restore a balanced, premium taste.

The water passes through six stages: a sediment filter for sand, silt and rust; a carbon block for chlorine and chemicals; an ultra-fine membrane to screen dissolved impurities; a polishing carbon stage for any remaining aftertaste; a remineraliser to add back good minerals; and a final conditioning stage that gives the crisp, silky AquaShield signature taste.

Pure RO water on its own tastes flat. The remineraliser gently adds back calcium and magnesium in a controlled way, balances the pH and gives the water a smooth, bottled-water taste instead of that “empty” RO taste.

Yes. AquaShield water is free from chlorine, microplastics and most common municipal contaminants. Many parents tell us their kids actually drink more water because it tastes noticeably better than normal tap water.

In about 95% of kitchens, yes. The unit is compact and mounts neatly against the cabinet wall. If you have drawers or a very tight space under the sink, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you book.

Yes. We can split the pure water line so AquaShield feeds a dedicated tap, your fridge, coffee machine, ice maker or even a second tap at the same time.

It depends on two things: how much water your household uses and how good or bad your incoming water is. As a guideline, we recommend replacing the first three stages (the pre-filters) every 6 months and doing an “over service” once a year where the whole system is checked, flushed and reset.

The pre-filters work the hardest and are treated as 6-monthly consumables. The RO membrane is protected by those stages and, in a typical Johannesburg home, lasts around 12–24 months if the pre-filters are changed on time. We assess the membrane condition during your annual over service.

Servicing is neat, quick and documented. Our technicians protect the area with drop sheets, swap the cartridges, flush the system, check for leaks and take photos for your service record. Most visits are done in under an hour.

Yes. If you prefer DIY, we can supply the correct cartridges and a simple step-by-step guide or video so you can change filters yourself. Many clients choose a mix: we handle the annual over service and they do the in-between 6-month pre-filter changes.

Yes, as long as the water feeding the AquaShield is pumped and pre-filtered at the tank or borehole. We specialise in tank and borehole setups and can advise on the right combination of pre-filtration and AquaShield for your home.

No. The system is designed for a steady, comfortable flow at the pure water outlet. Your normal hot and cold taps are unaffected, and the dedicated pure water outlet remains consistent for filling glasses, bottles and kettles.

No. AquaShield is a premium drinking-water system designed for your kitchen or bar area. For whole-home filtration (showers, baths, laundry and appliances) we install separate AquaGuard whole-house systems that are built for higher flow.

It depends on which AquaShield system you choose. The Standard AquaShield system does not require power at all — it continues producing pure water as long as your home has normal incoming pressure.

The AquaShield Turbo (the high-flow pumped version) does require power to run the booster pump. However, even during load-shedding you will still have pure water available, because the internal pressure vessel stores treated water and continues feeding the tap until the tank is empty.
